BARBARA SEGHEZZI
My passion is for image and story-telling trough images. It does not matter if the image is still or in movement, the importance is in what it communicates.
She studies acting with Susan Batson from the Actor's Studio, New york and the anglo-french company Roy Hart theatre.
She gets her degree in Political Science in 1997.
In 1998 she moves to Milan where she gets her diploma in film directing from the Cinema School
In 1998 she is first assistant director of Fernando Arrabal for the documentary "Borges: una vita di poesia". She realizes works as author and director. Short movies such as Paco e Chico (1999) and Seminammorbidente (2000), documentaries such as "Il Dottor Stranamore: storie di fine millennio" and l'Arte del mandala and music videos, collaborating with production companies.
From 2000 she works as video-journalist collaborating with My-tv, the first web tv, Corriere.it, Mondadori.com and Mediaset.
From 2001 she collaborates with Emage, multimedia lab of Grazia Neri photojournalistic agency, taking part to the project Makadam, the first magazine entirely produced with mobile phone, for which she realizes reportages using a mobile phone. She creates in collaboration with Emage a guide-book on video and photography with a mobile phone
With Grazia Neri agency she develops a collaboration in photography. Photographer since the 90's, she devotes to reportage, but also to more experimental form of photography with work such as "World corners projects"
In the art field, she realizes video installation such as "Ego ergo sum", street art project such as " The big sister is watching you".
She extends her visual research from the virtual world of digital to the real world of painting, with "Expression in red I" and "Expression in red II", acrylics, photographs + other materials on canvas. She expose her works in many different personal and collective exhibiitons, often favouring alternative spaces and forms for her works and projects.
In 2005 she directs together with Marcello Mencarini the first feature film in the world entirely shot with a mobile -phone, "Nuovi comizi d'amore", recently exhibited at MOMA
From this experience she develops a workshop teaching project "How to make a film with a mobile phone" she carries out in many different school and universities and in 2006-2007 at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
